Aligners are a great alternative to traditional braces for some patients. Clear aligners can be removed, making the teeth easier to brush and gloss. Each set of aligners are worn for a two-week period and are almost invisible when worn. However, they are not appropriate for everyone. These aligners are to be worn at least 22 hours a day and should only be removed to eat or brush and floss. Patients who are not faithful in wearing clear aligners will not have good results and should consider traditional braces. Also, traditional braces can correct more dental “issues.” Moving teeth should be done under the guidance of a dentist or Orthodontist.
